PRIVACY & ADVERTISING

Your results. Your browser.

The site keeps your recent results in this browser. It does not ask for your name, email, street address or precise location to run a speed test.

Local result history

When browser storage is available, we save the last 20 completed tests using localStorage. Each entry contains a timestamp, test mode, download speed, upload speed, ping and jitter. It does not contain an IP address. You can export the records as CSV or clear them using the history controls. Clearing site data in your browser also removes them.

Results do not automatically sync between browsers or devices. If storage is blocked, the test and calculators still work, but history may only last until the page closes.

What happens when you run a test

Your browser sends synthetic test data to and receives test data from speed.cloudflare.com. This process exposes normal network request information, including your IP address, to Cloudflare. The test does not upload your personal files. We disable the bundled engine’s optional final-results submission and per-measurement logging in this implementation.

Cloudflare’s own processing is governed by its privacy policy. The site’s hosting provider may also process connection and access information to deliver and protect the website. Any hosting sign-in is separate from the speed test.

Advertisements

The current version contains labelled spaces reserved for advertisements. No live advertising network is connected in this version, and the site itself does not load advertising or analytics trackers. Reserved placements have fixed minimum sizes to help prevent the page from jumping when content is added.

If an advertising provider is added later, this page and any required consent controls must be updated to describe that provider and its data use before the ad scripts are enabled. Advertising should remain separate from the test controls and should not begin refreshing during a speed measurement.

Downloads and external links

Result exports are generated on your device when you choose to download them. Linked sources have their own privacy practices. Fonts and the test engine are served with this website rather than requested from a third-party font or JavaScript CDN.

Your choices

  • Run a test only when you want to measure your connection.
  • Select Data saver for a smaller data allowance.
  • Stop a test at any time.
  • Export or clear your saved browser history.
  • Read the methodology before interpreting a result.
